At GCD, we believe that teamwork is the heart of high performance. That’s why we brought the entire team together for our annual “All Hands Together” event on November 11th and 12th at the Burrendale Hotel.
This year’s theme, “Performance Matters,” was all about taking our collaboration and impact to the next level. Here’s how the two days unfolded:
Day 1: Learning and Collaboration
The day began with an engaging session led by Oonagh & Marie-Claire from MCO Performance, where we took time to reflect on our current performance – both as a team and individually – looking at things we do well, what could be improved and what actions we could stop. We analysed our actions, our thoughts and our behaviours, and garnered insight into what it means to be high performing. It was an eye opening exercise that has set the stage for growth.
The afternoon was all about action! Teams tackled outdoor challenges that tested their problem-solving skills, teamwork, and creativity. Points were awarded, with prizes up for grabs.
The evening brought us together for a team dinner, a ballot, and the highlight of the night—a lively Bingo Loco Karaoke session. It was a perfect mix of laughter, competition, and connection.
Day 2: Teamwork in Action
We started the second day at Castlewellan Forest Park, where teams turned their points into resources for a raft-building challenge. With a blend of strategy, teamwork, and a bit of rowing skill, we took to the water to see who would float to victory.
Back at the Burrendale, the afternoon was dedicated to innovation within our project teams. We focused on practical ways to enhance our processes, ensuring we continue to deliver exceptional results for our clients.
Why It Matters
“All Hands Together” isn’t just about fun (though we had plenty of that!); it’s about fostering a culture of collaboration, reflection, and continuous improvement. We left the event not just as colleagues, but as a stronger, more connected team ready to take on new challenges.
“Performance Matters” is more than a theme here at GCD — it’s one of our mantras!
