Last month gcd had the pleasure of exhibiting at the 2016 Queens Work Experience and Placement Fair. The fair was bustling with young and budding students looking to further their learning and gain some valuable experience. As part of the fair we put together a coding challenge to win an iPad mini. Read on to find out who won on the day…
The challenge involved building a morse code translator in your programming language of choice. It was taken by plenty of undergraduates looking to impress but there could only be one winner. The prize went to Luke Roantree who decoded the morse code in 36min using C#.
Luke is in his first year of a four year MSci studying Applied Mathematics and Physics and only started to learn to code after transferring to Queens from Trinity College last year.
We wish Luke all the best in his future endeavours and we hope you enjoy your iPad!
